A lot was made of Pedro Acosta when he was promoted from Moto2 to MotoGP for the 2024 season. The Spaniard had won the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championships across three years, but could he do it in the big leagues?
We think the answer is yes. Across his debut season Acosta proved a lot of people right and a lot of people wrong. The rookie was not on the best bike and was in a satellite team, but he still managed to challenge KTM’s lead rider in the factory team.

Acosta stood on ten podiums throughout the 2024 MotoGP World Championship. The Spaniard had an even split of five Grand Prix podiums and five Sprint Race podiums. However, he did miss out on some perfect opportunities to claim his maiden MotoGP win.
The 20-year-old only failed to finish four of the 19 Grands Prix that he competed in throughout his rookie year. He also finished in the top ten in 12 of the 19 Sunday races that he competed in.
For the 2025 MotoGP season, Acosta has been promoted to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team. After only being beaten by Brad Binder by two points last season the Spaniard will look to stamp his authority over Binder in the upcoming season.
