F1 live timing: Follow all the action from the Austrian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen may have extended his World Championship lead again with his seventh win of the season last time out at the Spanish Grand Prix, but don’t get it twisted: the days of Verstappen and Red Bull absolutely dominating races are over.

A hugely resurgent McLaren, plus emerging pressure from Ferrari and Mercedes means the heat is well and truly on for Red Bull and we are quickly reaching a scenario where as many as EIGHT drivers have a genuine chance of winning races. Exciting times ahead!

And just to add to the drama and trepidation this weekend, we have our third sprint race format of the year which means the drivers have just one hour of free practice to use before the competitive sessions start.

Behind the front four teams is an intriguing fight for the remaining points positions. Aston Martin have unfortunately been left behind and now find themselves in a fight with Alpine and Haas unless they can unlock further performance again by way of upgrades.

Team RB, Stake F1 and Williams are all struggling towards the rear of the field, the former taking a surprising step back at the Spanish Grand Prix weekend after bringing their biggest update package of the season.
